Andy Flower departs from ECB to end 12-year spell by Wisden Staff October 12, 2019 - 10:40am 2 minute read Andy Flower, the former England head coach, has left the England and Wales Cricket Board after 12 years working in numerous coaching roles for the national governing body. Flower left his role as technical director in the England set-up on Saturday, and had hinted that he was more likely to take up roles on the franchise circuit than return to international cricket.

The former England team director is now the ECB’s ‘technical director of elite coaching’, and Lions head coach, and taking on Strauss’ role full-time would mean a step away from the more hands-on coaching role he is familiar with.
